Sikkim doctor bags prestigious European Award

Dr.Aarti Sarda, a consultant dermatologist from Sikkim has been awarded with the coveted Imrich-Sarkany Memorial Award for her contribution on Vascular skin disease in the recently concluded European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) Spring Symposium held in Verona, Italy (6-10 June ,2012). She was invited to present her work in the symposium and was one of the three awardees from the Non-European countries.

Dr.Aarti Sarda is an alumini of Tashi Namgyal Academy. She graduated from Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences and later completed her post graduation in Dermatology from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. She was awarded with a National award last year for her research work in Prurigo- An allergic skin condition. She was also invited in the World Congress of Dermatology, Seoul, South Korea to present a paper on Lupus Band Test in 2011.

Dr.Aarti Sarda is the daughter of S.K Sarda and  Shobha Sarda who are settled in Sikkim since five generations. Dr.Aarti Sarda regularly contributes articles in National and International journals and is a freelance writer for local and national newspapers.
